Checkered Flag Petits
Petits with an attitude
My interest in PBGVs occured in 1992 when I saw them on USA's broadcast of The Westminster Club dog show.; In 1996 I decided I was finally going to obtain one of these shaggy French rabbit hounds, I luckily found a breeder who was going to be having a litter.. In Feb 1997 I brought my first PBGV home-Ariel. She was a wonderful fun dog, unfortunately I lost her in Feb 2001. Upon hearing of my loss, Jennie Wright-Petit Time Petits contacted me and said she had a pup for me and to come and get her. That following weekend Judy came into my life, her love of life helped me to deal with the loss of Ariel. Two weeks after losing Ariel, I experienced another loss, along with millions of Nascar fans, the loss of Dale Earnhardt, at the Daytona 500. The name Judy didn't fit my new pup, she had a "go get'em attitude", so I decided on the name; Daytona Dale. Hence the kennel name of Checkered Flag. My dogs are house dogs, not kennel dogs and I want to continue to see the PBGV to thrive as a companion, agility competitor, hunting dog, show dog, anything to use their intelligence and working abitlity .Enjoy your journey into the world of Rustic French Rabbit Hound-the PBGV.
